Sara Sharp began her artistic career at only 5 years old when she joined Jo Hunters School of Ballet and Tap. At age 7, she began working with artistic director Lorrie Keller at Star Dance Modern & Ballet. She has a very musical background in addition to her many years of dance experience. Sara played the violin recreationally and competitively for 10 years, and also majored in Orchestra for 7 years at Classen School of Advanced Studies. She currently plays the piano in her free time and paints with watercolor. She began ice skating in the fall of 2007 at Arctic Edge Ice Arena and participated in her first skating competition in July of 2008. Since then she has traveled and participated in many more competitions as well as several ice shows and exhibitions. Her passion for the art of Figure Skating extends well beyond the walls of the ice rink and she has chosen to take her love of figure skating to the next level and make a career of it. Sara thoroughly enjoys working with her students and has been coaching private lessons since the summer of 2013. She loves taking her students to competitions and running her off-ice conditioning class. Sara’s focus, as a coach, is teaching her students to skate with power and extension while stretching to create beautiful lines, and while she is extremely proud when her students take home medals at competition, she teaches the values of good sportsmanship and the importance of working towards goals.
